Does Froogle have much value these days?

I see this forum (Froogle) does not get a lot of activity. Is this a sign that people are not finding much value in Froogle at this point?

I have heard that Google may create their own Ebay type site in the future. I wonder if Froogle would be in that picture?

If you are running an online store, froogle is a no brainer. It is free. It's easy to get all your items listed. And currently, it's not all that competitive. I get sales every month from froogle. It's not going double your sales, but hey, free advertizing... like i said, no brainer.

I have all of my products listed on Froogle because it is free and just may drive a little traffic my way in time.

It doesn't seem to have been promoted very much here in the UK at all and I asked a few work colleagues and not one had heard of it. I remember when Kelkoo started up over here there was a huge TV and billboard advertising campaign. As it has only just moved from Beta here I wonder if Google will start to promote it. I certainly wanted to be in on the ground floor if it did start to take off because here in the UK Google is a household name and with that behind them then Froogle could become one too.

I think Google along with Microsoft are the only companies who can possibly take Ebay on. I used to do a lot of ebay but the change in focus of my products to something they ban plus the fees hikes which meant I was working for them led me to go it alone with an eCommerce store.

Time will tell.
