I have a fairly new website that has 273 total pages that has been up since Dec 2004 http://www.quoteforinsurance.com. Ranked well in Y! in late Jan-mid Feb. Then I was cast into the Y! blackhole

Here are my Yahoo details:

33 pages indexed
30,400 backlinks
No where in the top 200 SERP's for my competitive keywords. I haven't even been able to find my site for non-competitive terms.

Ranking in the 40-160 range in Google for the same mid to very competitive terms
Backlink count: 1780
223 pages indexed
Ranking in the 1-30 range in MSN for the same very competitive terms
backlink count:43,648
273 pages indexed

I just can't figure out why I am not in the Y! SERPs? Slurp is visiting and crawling my site daily. I broke down yesterday and ordered the directory submission hoping that would do something. There are other sites that are ranking well that aren't in the directory. But I don't know what else to do.

I could really use some expert advice on this one.

Hi,

it takes time in all the search engines, for different reasons, but eventually your results will converge in all of them.

Yahoo slurps the hardest and is the slowest to index, everone here understands your impatience with Yahoo.

In Google, you are doing very well actually for a new site, which is probably sandboxed!

Thank goodness for msn, it doesn't send any traffic, but it confirms we are doing the right things!

When I first started my new site, I was sooo fed up I wrote this post...

Now things are looking better... ;)

Cheers,
Paz.

Thanks Paz,

Maybe that is all that it is. That was why I broke down and got the Y! Directory link (assuming they approve it). Y! is so fickle sometimes. Patience has never been one of my virtues, but I'm learning.
