Hi, I'm trying to create a travel page on my site which will contain images and music, both to be played at random, as well as an article which I've written.
I've created a page with some javascript that creates random images, and this works fine. I've also added some javascript for the random music into the page, but this doesn't work.
I'm just wondering whether it's actually possible to create a page with random images and random music, or whether I'm being too ambitious.

Panic over, got it working ok, think the problem was I didn't have enough music clips on the javascript for the random music.
Hi,
welcome to the forum....
Glad you sorted out the problem.... I'm not sure if music is a good idea. There are ways to switch it off as default. Don't forget some people are using their computers at work to choose their holiday.... ;)
Cheers,
Paz.

Thanks for that, Paz, I realise what you say is true, but I wonder what percentage of people surf while they are at work and are supposed to be working and what percentage surf when they are at home, and when they can do what they want.
I have no idea what the exact percentage is, but my guess is that most people surf when they are home and can do what they want.
So, as I love a good argument, I'm going to argue that I should run my site for the benefit of the majority of surfers that visit it and not for the minority.
One thing I will do, though, is try to put some kind of on screen switch on the pages with music, so that surfers can turn down the sound.
Hi Weaver,
Well for my travel site a suprisingly high number of visitors come from governmental organisations, charities, and from the emails with disclaimers in the signature files, large companies. These are mostly visitors from the middle east and the former USSR though, and may not be relevant to your site.
In any case you should ignore minorities at your peril, especially if they are the ones with the money... ;)
Cheers,
Paz.

Hi Paz, I take your point. If most of your visitors are businesses, organisations, etc., they will invariably be in a work environment and won't want the distraction of music.
My business clients, as opposed to my private clients, are mostly public relations companies and they are looking for individuality.
When they visit my site they will be in a work environment but because it's a photographer's site they are, or should be, prepared to see and perhaps hear some pretty individualistic stuff. So in my opinion, a couple of clips of music is acceptable.
I think we're both right, we both know our target audience, our visitors, and that's a good thing.
Anyway, time to write up my blog. I went onto a blog site after reading about blogging here and signed up for it.
I see you're in Turkey, I've been there a couple of times and liked it, liked the people especially. I might go back there soon, can you do me a good deal on travel (only kidding)
Cheers,
Weaver
