Hi, i've never worked with asp and just recently logged into to my new customers ftp and the site is built in asp.
The first thing i found odd is there is no index file.
They are using default.asp as the index.

Is that normal? Should i rename default to index?

It's quite normal - honest. On IIS servers, the default document is usually named "default", particularly if it's an ASP page, as opposed to an HTML page. But even then, default.htm is likely to be what you'd find. In IIS, there is a list of default documents that the server is looking for in folders - you can rearrange the order that it searches in, and even add or change the names. It really doesn't matter.
