It's a coding system thats very popular, in very very small circles. Its whole ethos is to make life easier for the developer, but it's light years behind ASP.NET, and ruby on rails, etc...
I was actually present at it's launch, in 1997. Have to say that even then I wasn't hugely impressed, not compared to ASP. Strokes for folks though - each to their own.

ASP.net has one big flaw... It is Microsoft.

Typically, I would see that as a benefit.
Do you actually know anything about .NET development?

I am not very fond about anything that Microsoft produces. I have tried coding a little ASP.net but I chose Coldfusion over it and PHP. Coldfusion can produce the same functions with less code and is a more secure platform.

Sorry, I have to STRONGLY disagree with you.
1 - Coldfusion isn't capable of the same functionality as .NET
2 - It doesn't require less manual coding
3 - It certainly isn't more secure - its not even in the same ball park when it comes to security.
Personal choice is neither here nor there, and I certainly couldn't care less. But it really bakes my noodle when people have a dig at something without really any understanding of it, or use some generic "Oh well it's Microsoft - isn't it?" type argument that makes no sense at all.
Sorry, but that really gets my goat.
