Google web alerts
|
GByte,
Yes, the web alerts are a great way of getting industry related news sent to you on a frequent basis. I signed up for them a few weeks ago and have been placeing thier news directly on my homepage. Since the news is based on the keywords your choose, it increases the keyword density of your page and also bring in a few hits from obscure search terms found in the news section. You can take a look at how I've implemented them on my homepage. http://www.bluegeckonetwork.com I'm also hoping that google will see the changing news section and index the site more frequently, but I really haven't seen an improvement in this area yet. |
Hi Bluegecko
Thats actually a very good idea for getting news related content on your site. However, I dont know if you clicked on the link but the alerts I posted are not just news related alerts. In googles own words they can be used for..... Some handy uses of Google Web Alerts include: keeping current on a competitor or industry monitoring references to your name or company finding out when people link to your site discovering new websites on a certain topic This morning whenever I performed a search on google.co.uk I was seeing at the bottom of the results something along the lines of..... NEW! Would to like to receive alerts for the search bla bla bla........ Or is it just that these have been around for some time and in which case I should be quite? :p |
