Not again GoogleBot!

Hello,

I was having trouble with my site getting indexed. I knew my site was linked perfectly and than it got indexed over 4000 pages.

Than it was just the main page getting indexed.

So I did some experiment, made the site less than 50 pages. and did something to the doctype. Than nothing was getting indexed.

Than I removed the doctype and only my main page was getting indexed.

I checked my error logs and it looks like google is looking for my old (4000+) files.

I don't use a robots.txt file but I use to.

Why is google bot not indexing my site properly although its linked perfectly. It was before?

Thanks

JB

PS: I would post my URL but I don't think I'm allowed too. Help would be appreciated.

You home has almost no links, you sitemap has basically no links either. Your site: command shows over 9000 pages indexed... did you scrap the previous design and pages and start from scratch ?

Thanks for your reply

Hello,

Yes I scratched everything and uploaded a much smaller site to see and have more control over whats going on.

9000 plus pages got indexed once and than they stopped?

So I wanted to know why just the main page.

What do you think?

Thanks

JB

If the change is recent it might be normal. Google has jammed the cache on the 23-24th on my sites. It still does visit but not showing the new cache.

If google refreshed your homepage, then it should not be very long before it find the new pages too.

Hello Joceyln

Thank yo so much for your help. I appreciate the time you took out from your daily tasks to answer my concern.

My instincst were telling me it was probably google acting up again but I guess I'll make another 'beta' site map for easier navigation.

Thanks

JB

Have a great one!
