SEO Competitions
For a while now, i've been looking on the internet trying to find a fun seo competition to join, but since there are so many different ones, it's hard to choose. I don't want to enter more than one, since it's my first time and i want to give all my attention to one contest.
Here is one i found that seemed very interesting to me: cpayscomdotcom. The keywords are not so imaginative, but the $10,000 prize for the #1 MSN'er does sound very interesting. Especially, since most competitions are for Google, which seems much more complicated.
Is there anybody who can give me advise on this? Am i making the right choice?

This seems to me to be not-so cleverly disguised spam. Interesting somewhat innovative idea to run an SEO competition to pump your business, but I don't like what the end results might be on the serps - nor the method. If you want first spot on the engines then ask for help, or pay for it, but being deceptive sucks. Just MO

You don't have to agree with any of these competitions, but i don't really see why you need to trash them (or me).

I think that if I were to enter an seo contest (and I won't be), I would be sure to actually promote something that I believe in...and having worked for an online casino before, they would be about my last choice.
But if you feel that this is going to be a great use of your time, go for it.
Personally, I think you'd be better off creating a site of your own about something you are truly interested in and promoting that. I'm sure in the long run it would pay off a lot better than a slim chance at $10,000

I'll give you some "advise".... read a forum's rules and hang around a while before dipping your toes in the water with an introductory post and making a few contributions before launching in with a highly dubious seo competition announcement.
Cheers,
Paz.
