Whoa! That's not my site! I found it doing extensive research on top ten gas scooter sites using the keyword density tool.
Here is another one...can you find the hidden text?
http://www.hostultra.com/~edge1/gas_scooters.htm
Number 8 on keyword = gas scooters

here is another one I found
This one is not really a Spam dex (NOT MY SITE!!) but it's held a top 5 ranking on keyword = gas scooter since november of last year with zero usefull content. Zero.
For the life of me I cannot figure out how these guys sites survive with all you read about content, content, content. Who in their right mind would even link to a site like this! (URL below).
click on the link on the bottom of the index page, and it takes you to yet another link page with zero content. Every link you see goes to the Urban Scooter affiliate site, and it doesn't even look like it's being hosted by a dedicated ISP.
http://www.clickslink.com/scooters/...s_products.html
Here I am with 75 pages of content, sweating over pixel shims and my H1's - H6's, PR=4 and cannot be found for the same keyword=gas scooters.
Dejectedly,
Gas Scooter Guy

Gas Scooter Guy,
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Google Run. Much like the Running Man movie, shitty people sometimes take control. YOu can report the spammers if it makes you feel better, but they don't necessarily get removed.
I was also just cruising through some of the top listed sites on Google for your keywords. They all seem pretty generic to me. You have a lot of great info but it doesn't stand out very well. It took me a good minute or two to really figure out what to look for on your site. Have you considered packaging those articles as a newsletter that enthusiasts can link to as an 'authority' resource? Also, have you tried simplifying your page titles?

Dreamshop:
I am all ears (eyes?) to new ideas to make the index work. My conversion rate is low, and only 4 people have signed up for the newsletter. I am number on google for keywords related to gas scooter troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and several niche categories on pocket bikes and choppers. I have about 50 more reviews to add. Oh, and my parts pages have about a 90% click through rate.
I considered drop down menues for the links, but after visiting here got the idea that Java-anything was verboten. I might still put a series of drop downs in like:
Gas Scooter Price Ranges with increments of $150 and then another with engine sizes, and another by style (powerboard, moped, chopper), and a final one that would have a drop down menu with the articles.
I have only a 15% word density for "gas scooters" compared to the top 10 which run 20%+ on 200 words compared to my 2000+ words.
As soon as I really analyze the prints from the top 10 SERPS on google using the keyword density tool I plan to post in the Site Review forum with as complete a story as possible. But, if i the meantime, you can steer me in the right direction on the layout, I sure would be grateful.
Thanks,
Gas Scooter Guy

I've never seen that. IMO use what's functional for viewers (JS/Flash/Whatever) for navigation and supplement with text links for spiders. If it's in a footer, and you don't get carried away you get the best of both worlds. Personally I put the JS in an external file (looks cleaner, reduces file size) though there's some debate as to whether it has any impact on KW prominence.

Neat Trick eCammando
eCammando,
If I understand the trick that you gave out, it tell who has the most backlinks for that key word that you enter. If this is true I am number 3 for the keyword rv financing for the www.lowrvfinancing.com.
I wish that I could say that I was in the top 10. The only thing that is ranking good, not great - number 17, is the application form that is on the secure server. Ya that does not make sence at all. If someone figures that out let me know I still loose sleep over it .
Thanks for sharing eCammando,
Bela Flor
