How to handle Yahoo
I redesigned and restructured my entire main site back in...March, I believe. In doing this I have a custom 404 redirecting to the main page so people don't get stuck on a plain 404 page. Despite Yahoo continously, frequently, crawling the site since then, it still only lists (site:) several old pages that don't exist and haven't existed since the redesign.
The old URLs it does list have all inherited the attributes of my main page. Google did this for a little while but finally wised up I guess and all has been well there. But Yahoo doesn't seem to want to realize those pages haven't existed for a few months, and realize all these new pages that it's been crawling for months are new and should be there.
Yahoo also shows my main URL with my directory listing attributes, not my actual on-page attributes.
Any ideas? ( link)
