Saluto! Has anyone ever noticed interesting effect: some page with one of relevant keyphrase is ranked under the first 100 results and you everyday find this site and click on it. The site is loaded and you never press "back" button and simply close the explorer window. After week of that kind of clicking your ranking goes up. Question is that: is it my own gallucinose or if it really works? maybe clickthrus are controlled by Google toolbar?

Msk, Welcome to the forums. In all honesty I think it's most likely a coincidence. I've never seen or heard of visits improving rankings. If it were to be so I'd hire a couple teen-agers for the summer.

I know the google toolbar does monitor where you go and send information back to google, but I wouldn't think they would do that.

Clicks have no effect on your rankings. Sometimes the SERPS will have some extra code to track clicks and see if their algo is doing the job. But it's a quality control thing, not a ranking method.

Just look at Alexa that use the toolbar to rank stuff. It's out of wack. I used to look at it until a saw that it was no good.

Bottomline, it would be to easy to manipulate the serps.
