Hi,

I don't think Google would penalise sites with "add your reciprocal link here" - half the web would disappear. It's always possible they could discount links on such pages, but at the moment, they've got bigger fish to fry.

It's all speculation, but it wouldn't hurt to use some other text, or maybe use a graphic.
