Lightbulb New Site

Hi Guys,

I am looking to start building a new site very shortly and I wanted to ask a few quick questions.

1. It is a vital function of the site that I use image maps, Would I face any optimisation problems if I used flash to do this?

2. If I am going to use flash what tips can you give regarding limiting its use to ensure optimisation and customer experience are balanced well?

Thanks

paul

1. I'd go ahead and use the flash for visitors and include text links in the footer for spiders.
2. If you make sure that you have a reasonable block of related text to accompany the flash (and utilize text links for spiders) you shouldn't find optimization a chore.

Looking for some help

I've got a rather new blog (started 3 months ago) and I'm not seeing as much traffic from the search engines as I would like to. I get hit by all the major search engines but I feel that it should be a lot more visitors then I'm seeing. Any suggestions you might have would be much appericated. I'm using Moveable Type and I wonder if that is one of the biggest issues?

*I've got a number of links from related websites but I havn't focused on keywords since I'm covering such a large topic.

The type of blog really doesn't matter as all of the majors are pretty much SE friendly. You won't see much traffic after only 3 months. it's going to take a while - espescialy if you are targeting competative keywords.

Hey paul can we see your website. Since you had mentioned that image maps were necessary I just want to see what kind of design you have done. I guess it much be very complex right?

Anyways I hope you'll show us the site soon.
