Feed and Podcast Related Sites

It seems to me that in an ever insatiable quest to index content the search engines have turned to some of the newest content players. The Rss feeds and podcasts. I've just started development of my own rss aggregation site to experiment the results.

In anycase the original question for my post is, is this just a trend, or something that is likely to be a main stay. We can see that each of the major players has started it's own rss initiatives. What is this a pre-cursor to?

Now that major ppc engines have started to provide ppc ad specifically developed for rss feeds, these rss content hubs are starting to seem awefully attactive. From an SEO stand point, the ability to aggregate fresh data and re-display it as news content, or as a news reading application is priceless. The difficult thing will be for the rss clearinghouses to add value to thier offerings. Seems like searching and categorizing is no longer important, but things like feed intelligence, the ability to mix and match, and also customize the content have become the people's request.

Do you have any feelings about this growing trend? What's your outlook?

Thanks for your comments,
PuReWebDev
