Peak Traffic (Even if everything was perfect)?
SEO Gang,
I wasn't 100% sure where to start this thread so I took my best shot.
I've been checking out the posts on this forum and one thing that I don't think was mentioned was this question?
Even if you had the master plan for SEO and you were getting top placement on all the keywords you wanted on all the major search engines, How much traffic do you expect to get and don't you think that your traffic would peak at a certain level depending on what service you were providing or what product you were trying to sell?
I have a unique and different product that I am trying too sell in a niche market. Seems to me that even if I had top placement in the search engines for all the keywords that I wanted, there would be a peak threshold of traffic I can expect to receive from search engines alone.
Therefore, I see the only way to get more traffic after the peak is by paying to advertise. In this case, PPC SE advertising seems to be a waste of money due to the fact that you would already have top placement on your keywords. Why spend money for a ppc campaign when you don't have to. Banner advertising, pop-up and pop-under advertising is a waste also.
Right now I am tickling a little targeted advertising with a text AdBright partner on only one site that I found that is a good market match. It is a one week text ad for a week for forty cents. The average click-through that they gave me was about 7 for the week. In 24 hours, I've already had 20. Guess I found something positive there. I would average 140 click-throughs for the week for 40 cents! Tenths of a cent for targeted advertising. If I could find 20 or so places to advertise with those numbers, I'd be in the cat bird seat.
There has to be another way, Jeff O'
