Just as a side note. I recently fixed up a website that had been around for several years. The guy only had the first page of the site indexed and this was for many different reasons. The first was his menu structure used JavaScript DHTML. I have heard that the spiders can crawl these links, but as a general rule of thumb, you should use <a href="" links.
Second, he didn't have any inbound links, maybe one or two to the home page and that was it. I replaced the JavaScript navigation with a CSS based solution (looked the same), created a Google sitemap, and got him about 3 links from directories (I wasn't really paid for all of that or I would have done more). Within about a week, 90% of his pages where indexed by Google.
