Inbound Links From Subdomains

Can anyone tell me how well the MSN Search engine responds to inbound links comming in from sub-domains? I have many on page in-bound links, but I really want to find out if it's more beneficial to create several sub-domains, or if I should register new domains altogether to feed myself backlinks?

Thanks,
PuReWebDev

Don't do either unless you want to take the chance of getting banned.

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear when I said feed myself links. I intend to setup fully functioning websites, no spamtastic link sites. I'm not going to be using it to spam links to myself, or anything that would get me banned. I'm an ethical user of SEO techniques.

So my original question still stands, what is more beneficial, the use of subdomains, or domains for my inbound links. Also, I'm targeting MSN search.

Thanks,
PuReWebDev

I would think independent domains from a separate IP block would be the best. Also there is talk to rotate the links (every few months take the links off of a site and add links from another). This is kind of a grey hat technique that i've heard of since the google patent came out. I think it's a lot of work and kind of risky too. But to answer your question, I would focus on domains rather than subdomains. I've had more success doing that

In either case I feel that you won't get quite the results you're looking for since they will all be hosted on similar IPs. Furthermore, you would get a higher ROI by focusing on building links from real sites rather than building sites to link to your main one.

I'm not sure what gave you the impression that I would build a site just to link back to another, that's the kind of crap spammers would do. I don't spam anything (email or seo). Furthermore, my original question was which inbound link was more beneficial. How did you veer so far off course? Anyways, my question has been answered, so no need for you to reply.

Thanks fourthring for your helpful response.

Sounds like spam to me

And for the record-you asked what would be more benefitial. That was answered-neither of your options were good ones.
