Weird things going on in the linkdomain

The backlinks for my sites have remained fairly consistent over the past month or so. The last couple of days, they have been fluxuating drastically. In Yahoo, one of my sites http://smithsolutions.nthdev.com was sitting at around 90 backlinks for the past 4 months or so. My new site http://345software.com has been moving between 20 and 80 backlinks.

Google has been between 0 and 5 so I don't even care, but in MSN, http://smithsolutions.nthdev.com went from a solid 40 links down to 0. On the other site, http://345software.com went from 15 links to 600 down to 250 backup to 600, and has been sitting pretty consistently in the 500's for the past couple of days.

I just don't get all this SEO stuff. Anyone know why this is happening, or is this just part of the natural SEPRs / BackLink ranking lifecycle?

Hi,

I've seen the same as you in Google and Yahoo.... It's a nuisance, but shouldn't stop you from getting backlinks, backlinks and more backlinks.

Cheers,
Paz.
