What's Next?

After keywords are found, optimized pages correctly, backlinks are good, and a few other things. What happens if the sites are not showing up. Is there anything or any other tricks that can help in SEO?

I am a big believer of:
writing clean code
valid html, css
do not use bgcolor, font and other outdated html tags - use external css
site map
title
updates
anchor text....

It does take time. Build links steadily and keep adding content and you will eventually rock. You should post your site in the site review section to see if there are any errors you missed or improvements you can make.

I agree with everything that has been said here as mainstream with the exception of buying links. I think that should be left for "advanced" users.

Like everyone has said, create meaningful and useful content and relevant links. The rankings will come. Try and be patient.

Don't forget about the supposed Google 'Sandbox'. Lots of differing views on this subject.

Also you could try using some of the tools at the following

http://www.w3schools.com/site/site_validate.asp
http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/
http://www.kwmap.com/

Well that' senough for now. Should keep you busy for a while.
