Can You have too many inbound links?

I was wondering if you can have too many inbound links. I have some keywords that are in the #1 spot in Google. One of my keywords are
"an-130". To keep consistancy on my pages I would like to put navigational text links on the bottom of all my pages but will that mess up my position for #1 in Google? Will Google consider that spamming?

For navigating within your site? That won't damage your placement at all. It is impossible to have "too many" inbound links.

Your site cannot be affected or penalized for something that is not under your control.
You can't control people who want to link to you ... if you have a nice and useful site you'll get thousands of links ... do you think Google would ever consider you have to many ???
Never ... because you don't have control over this situation!

Don't think inbound links can hurt. It can only help.

yes I agree SEO Jon, please send me those inbound links that you have to many of, I am such a nice guy I will absorb the damage they do for you ;-)

What you should do though in all sincerety is make sure you switch up your inbound link text and also the destination page every once in a while. This makes your linking efforts seem more natural and also it just makes sense to target more then one phrase, and likely from different pages

In all seriousness, I wonder if there *IS* a case where too many links could be damaging. I.e. assuming some site had 10,000 (or 100,000) exact same anchor-text links to an external site (i.e. not links back to the own site) ... while I don't think this would negatively affect you, I wonder if the Google algorithm would say "wait a minute, that's overkill and can't be right ... so I'll just chuck all those links" ... i.e. you would have been better off with say, just a dozen (or less) links.

Having said that, let me join the crowd and suggest if you want to send some links toward www.komar.org I'd be happy to take 'em! ;-)
