I created a software that basically connects to the overture search tool, for example keyword: bird

It gets the top 100 searches and puts it in a nice text file.
I can add as many keywords as I like and it works wonders.

Do I need an API as I was planning to market it and dont want to break any terms and conditions or any legal trouble.

I would say yes you should use it, but I've just had a look in G. to back that up and I can't find any definitive evidence.

Many of the Yahoo tools I use advertise either that they are using the yahoo API, or that they are limited to a number of searches per day because of the yahoo API.

I seem to remember someone saying that yahoo block IP addresses who make too many "automated" queries in a short time.

Maybe someone else has heard the same?
