Great article.

You can see in Google labs that they already have voice recognition software for doing voice-based searches. You can call a number, enter a code and say your search. The results are displayed on your screen. I tried calling the number but the line was always busy.???

Is this the only article you found referencing Google and telephony apps?

VoIp is just a rumour at the moment. The service doesn't quite fit with big G's agenda really and existing technologies. Afterall, they have released a whole bunch of products lately. There's a ton of competition in this market as well.

BUT they have been advertising for candidates with experience of buying IP transit services and dark fiber contracts. Skype is the market leader, but theoretically, Google could just but them out.

I don't know. Again, we'll see...
