Yes, but not as big as it may seem.

My referer stats showed a couple of visitors coming in today from yahoo.co.uk
search, so I had a quick look and saw I have a page at no.1 for a phrase with
over 1.5 billion results, still brings less than a handfull of visitors aday though.

Strange thing is it is only returned when using yahoo.co.uk
not even in the top 100 using yahoo.com
On closer inspection, there were no UK results anywhere using the .com
Is Yahoo now making its results more location based, and returning results
based on where the searcher is searching from or which version of yahoo
they are using?

Reason: (added "or which version of yahoo" to end of sentence

Hi,
they have been for some time now. There are a few off-site factors that help localise your site (as well as text on the site). The first is backlinks from .co.uk sites. The second, I've noticed, is the hosting location.
The software site in my sig does significantly better in yahoo.ca, and I'm sure it's because it's because it's hosted in Canada.
It's a small boost, for a relatively uncompetitive term, but I'm sure yahoo use hosting info to try and "localise" a website. Unfairly in my view....
Cheers,
Paz.
