Google Ban or PR Update?
Since today my frontpage of my domain turned out gray with a PR of 0. After some checking I saw that all my pages are listed in google but my main page not. I have optimized my site and worked according the rules of Google so it is very strange that the site is banned. I have only about 4 outgoing links and about 108,000 incoming links and the main page has normally a PR of 8. After checking many things I analyzed the following things and conclusions:
- Pages listed and all are listed except the main page;
- Main page PR toolbar is Gray and not white;
- My other pages do still have their normal PR score;
- With the keywords I search my site other pages do show up minus my main page;
- If I am banned I should be banned with all pages and not only the main page;
- I read somehwere on this site there is going to be a PR update one of these days, but my competitors just show up normal.
So what can be the thing?? It is very strange cause I fear the worst...

First, you have to wait a bit to see if it's not just a bug. Usually a site is completely banned and since you show pages indexed and in serps, can't really be that, unless they just kicked that page, but would not be a common thing. If this has been going on for more than a week or two, then maybe you should freak... but if it just happen... wait to see if it's not just a temporary thing...

After the brandy update, a lot of webmasters had their home page go to PR0 and it stuck till the next update, but no serps loss. The difference here is that it's all gone... but like anything there is always a first time for everything.
Lately I noticed seaches showing only a hadfull of results when they used to show many thousands... so something is being stirred behind closed curtains... like I said, unless it's been like this for a while, you have to wait and see.

I think there is a bell ringing but I am not sure. But if the PR goes 0 and there is an update wil it turn back to the same PR? You think Google can eliminate their own competition from their search results to get better results themselves??

There is currently an update going on, but not in the traditional sense. Check the following DCs to see the current picture:
66.249.93.104
64.233.179.104

Yes i am thinking the same thing, but it is so strange that it happends like that. That means a loss in traffic and sales for us. I like the way they have their algo but not to get the good guys with it... We work hard!!!
