Interesting reading, thanks Gazelle. Quite impressive that they (Ask) have actually been able to grow their market share by a small percentage over the last year while yahoo, msn and aol have all been losers.

I guess when your at that very bottom end of the scale, every little bit really counts. Mind you though, if thats all they got as a result of the large amounts they spent on rebranding and advertising - I don't know if I would call that a resounding success.
I still think MSN are the ones to watch at the moment, with their LIVE beta programs. Although, I didn't realise they had slid so far down the ladder.
Hmmmm

I still wouldn't worry too much yet, it does seem to take longer than usual for the results to return on MSN.
The top results that you had previously, did you have them for a long time before they slipped/vanished? If not, it's possible you are going to need to do some work to get them back up there.

The one's that were 3 - 4 months old will almost certainly come back.
Have you made significant changes to the pages that were showing in the serps? You could consider some minor tweaks to the pages in question, without reducing your keyword weighting. Seeing the pages being refreshed might help.
Chin up... it'll be ok.

Cool, hope the same applies to me, which I'm sure it does. But just in case, I've gone out and done a whole bunch of directory submissions and whatnot to target the main keyphrase that dropped off the first page.

I think it will come as a risidual effect after the big marketing push that Ask has done recently.

I dropped as well for about a week. My positions in MSN have returned and actually improved slightly. Hang in there and keep your eyes open, you'll come back.
