Have you made significant changes to the pages that were showing in the serps? You could consider some minor tweaks to the pages in question, without reducing your keyword weighting. Seeing the pages being refreshed might help.
Chin up... it'll be ok.

I've made some slight changes.. not affecting keywords density or richness on the specified pages..
I've also added very much content.. it should pay off ..

My site that got slammed is still gone for most of the keywords I used to rank for. It has been over 3 weeks. Is it time to worry?

Wow, I just got spanked in msn as well...but in a very odd fashion.
Basically, I'm maintaining my rankings for pages that have the keywords in the url, but those without I have dropped off for.
Example, my home page, optimized for 'seat covers' and 'car seat covers' used to be between #1-3 in msn for those keywords for the last 9 months or so. Now, they can't be found in the first 3 pages. The 'car seat covers' does bring up a listing on the third page, but it's a page of mine called Car-Seat-Covers.asp that I have almost 0 IBLs for.
Now, another page...'Hawaiian Seat Covers' which is a page names Hawaiian-Seat-Covers.asp is doing just fine.
I don't know if other people are seeing the same pattern, but this is what I've seen. And since it's only been the two main keywords I got spanked for I'm thinking that there has to be some sort of connection.
Any thoughts?

The new algo from the update about 3 weeks ago seems to give more weight to keywords in the URL. I noticed alot of sites that rank right now have keywords in the URL. Sometimes they have it repeated once or twice in the URL.

yeah, sounds about right. Oh well, I guess I'll just need to get a little more ibl's for some of my other page and work with what I've got, not about to change my home page name just to accomadate msn.

the keywords in the url.. don't know what to say..
I have this directory www.lovethepoem.com/friendshippoems on my site..
used to rank 3'rd on MSN for friendship poems.. I also have about 35 links with the right anchor texts pointing to it.. and still nowhere(page 6 or smth like that..)
so I belive this contradicts this "new rule".. what do you say ?

Uhh...as far as I know, when you have it like 'friendshippoems' search engines read that as one word 'friendshippoems', as opposed to if you were to seperate it as follows:
frienship-poems
When you put in the dash, search engines can read it as two seperate words. When it's one, it's just a big gibberish word as far as they are concerned.

Well I am sure there is more to it than keywords in the URL but alot of sites that currently rank high in my market, have keyword stuffed URLs and keywords in the Title Tag.
