Does anyone have any knowledge of where overture gets its data?

I am located in the UK and have been using Overture to suggest terms based on the UK market, but today I entered in a term "accident lawyer" and it came up with a lot of search terms with american places in such as florida and miami.

It would seem unlikely that these searches are actually being performed from the UK in the numbers it suggests, so therefore I'm thinking that its not actually providing me with localised results.

Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone heard of a true UK market keyworld suggestion tool? Even a paid for service? (I have word tracker but again it uses american results)

That sounds strange. The data should be coming from Yahoo UK, MSN UK and Orange UK (was Wanadoo).

You could see if Espotting/Miva still have a tool to use?

it has the UK versions of Overture and MIVA keyword suggestion tools at the top of the results.

I have tried both of them and they seem to both come back with US results as well as UK.

The only other thing I can thing of is to use the google tool in Adwords to check how a keyword might perform. This tool allows you to target certian countries, i.e. just the UK. This only brings back results for google though I presume, but google is by far the most used search engine anyway.
