New google spider

Hey there.

I've been reading about a new spider that focuses solely on address and contact details in html on web pages.

Apparently in order to ensure that the sites have a legitimate means of contact for clients and visitors. A new check for website vailidity... A bit hard on us affiliates, but actually a pretty good idea - I think - without having put too much thought into it...

Any truth to the rumour?

Never heard of it. It looks like no one else has either.

Here's where I got it:

John Alexander
http://www.searchengineworkshops.com - (this is the main url, the information was priovided in a daily email I subscribe to.)
Be sure to include geographical information like your real world address on your
pages. Your information should be included in HTML so the spiders can read it.

A whole new breed of spiders is looking for area codes, zip codes and city
names, to assist searchers in finding stores and services near their location.

Doing so will allow you to come up ahead of the competition when someone searches
for your business... in Orlando or a specific geographical region.

My apologies for singling out Google - been focussing on them today, and made an error in applying this info to Google specifically.

Nonetheless, can anyone definitely either confirm or deny this information?

It is important to my affiliate business - hence the question.
