Google page rank (weird)
I searched in Google this: avid ultimate levers
http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/11...mate-Levers.htm
this page has a page rank of 4 and showed up in the 5th position on the page.
http://www.outdoorsportz.com/BGBLOOOO1002.html
this page has a page rank of 2 and showed up #1 for this term.
I checked the keywords in the page source.
“Avid” we have it 16 more times
“Ultimate” we have it 13 more times
“Levers” we have it 6 more times.
To me I would think since we have the search terms more often and a higher page rank that we should be above them but this is not the case.

If it was just a matter of keyword density, then all you'd have to do is spam the hell out of the keyphrase to be above the others... same thing for pagerank... just get more links and you win. If it was like that... then I would not bother making good sites... I would just get loads of links and push the density of my crappy content page. There is more than density and pagerank to it...

Hi,
Page rank in itself is increasing less a primary factor in rankings, but you should be able to beat those guys though. You have more links, more pages and your site is much older.
It would take me an at least an hour to analyse the two sites properly but here are few things off the top of my head after looking around for 10 minutes.
Google's only listing 19 of your 7,000 pages as unique. That's because you have too many pages with titles dominated by:
"Price Point - Where price is the point - XXXX"
You should lose the "Price Point - Where price is the point" part from your titles and just leave them as "XXXX - Price Point" as they are diluting your most important tag.
Your meta description tags are the same on every nearly page viz:
Price Point - The Hottest Cycling Products for the Lowest Prices. Great Discounts on Mountain Bike....
They need to be unique and relevant to the pages they are describing, and I think there's a similar situation with your keywords tags.
I know it's hard with a CMS, but you really have to get your developers to come up with a way to generate unique and relevant titles and descriptions, maybe with titles based on
Product category > Manufacturer and > Model
pulled from your database as keyword strings as titles, and do something with the similar with the descriptions, but make them meaningful sentences.
Also I'd make a huge sitemap of all your products and not just a summary of the categories.
Cheers,
Paz.

There was a time were a real online fight was spreading amongst webmasters to have higher PR than their competitors. But at present it's more like a fashion medal or something that a website can be just proud of.
Tomorrow, the content containers will be the masters.

Naaa... I don't type quicker... I just make shorter answers cause writing english is more time consuming for me... Not sure what succinct means... maybe something like blunt... lol

succinct = compendious: briefly giving the gist of something; "a short and compendious book"; "a compact style is brief and pithy"; "succinct comparisons"; "a summary formulation of a wide-ranging subject"
Quote:
succinct:
succinct adj résumé
succinct adj succinct

donner brièvement l'essentiel de quelque chose ; "un livre court et compendieux" ; "un modèle compact est bref et vigoureux" ; "comparaisons succinctes" ; "une formulation récapitulative d'un sujet étendu"
does that make any sense? I used babelfish and i know its not always accrate, tried to write a dutch letter to my step dad once and it didnt make any sense....hehee
