3 hour google penalty
Hi to all - I will here reveal something interesting that happend to me in SERPs world.. Im a webmaster of more than 60 differnet web sites working as a webmaster for 7 yeras now (and living out of it) but I only have 6-7 my domains and my own sites..but working for a lot of peoples on theirs web sites has brought me lot of tricks and a big expirience ...
one of the most puzzling thing that happend to me in seo world was a three hours penalty for my KWno1 (the most valuable KWord I have) ..of course I was shocked by droping out of mr.g index and stud there still for a while... whan my brain recoverd for a bit ..I stated thinking what may be the reason of index drop...
nothing came to my mind, you know how it is ..you do so much work in so little time so basicaly I dont remeber every litle seo thing a did...and wich one of that seo thingies made me drop out od Mr. G index for that KWord
my site wass still in index but a specific page I we beed doing SEO for more than three years has just gone, looked at all goole servers..just to found out it wass still in some server (such as google.at google.de) but on google.com I could not find it...
as I watched things develop ..more google servers where showing the same thing main google server did, my page just wasnt there...soon it was removed form google.de .at and every other server (data center) I looked...
I was of course thinking about carrier change.. and stuff
before I went to bed that night ...I did the last search that day..this is my last attempt ...
my KWord was there with all my pages in all google servers... ..looked at the time ..it was 3 hours after the KWord was gone , 3 hours of pain for me ...
if anybody has any suggestion what happend to me or if ti has happend to somebodey else... give me some ideas
I think that in nowdays google things change worldwide in less than hour...

Never gone through anything like that..
I guess you're just lucky that google bumped your website to it's original rank

Hi Sinisa,
It does sound like a strange story. When you say different servers, did you mean different domains or different IPs? The IP checks are probably more reliable. Anyway, sound like a scary experience!
Cheers,
Paz.

I was monitoring the changes in all usuall places (google dance tool, IP such as http://72.14.207.99/, http://72.14.207.104/, a lot of local country G. domains .de. at. com. ...) and my conclusion is that there is no more tipical PR update and that thing in G. world today are much much faster...
I can see the same thing with some of my other sites..if I do a search for site: www.domain.com I can see constant chganges in matter of hours...some pages are shown and can be reached trough google cache and non chached version and some can not be seen, it is not a PR update..things are like this for months now...

Well sounds like there's not much you can do by checking all the time..
Post your site in the Site Review forum with as many details of your seo campaign as possible and and we'll take a look, but in the meantime I would just keep going with it; backlinks and content.
Cheers,
Paz.

I had it happen to me for about a day or so, I just got removed for one search phrase "relevant text links" I am normally no.2 on worldwide and number 1 on UK only, for this phrase on Google.co.uk but about two weeks ago I just disapered and only on UK only pages and only on that one phrase, other phrases on the same page like high pagerank text links were still in exactly the same position on UK only and web search, it totally batterd my head but after about a day or so it just went back to normal, phew!

3 hours... I had a page doing this for days on all updates... so as soon as this one would disapear, I knew google was doing an update and fair enough, there was a deepcrawl a few days before on all my sites, a bit later the update was visible. The page doesn't do it anymore... you just had a 3 hours shot, not bad, that 4-5 days on a page bringing 300 uniques/day was a bit annoying.
I see lots of my pages do that here and there... they vanish for a little while and just come back a bit later, hours, days... depends. It's like if the page was taken out while it's being scrutinized... when it's done with the evaluation, it goes back where it was... or should be...
I don't go looking on the DC's too much... everytime I did that, it proved to be a waste of time. Even when GoogleGuy was saying this DC is the one... the data changed big time just before it propagated... so the follow up ended being just a waste of time leading to completely different data... all this excitement to get a pie in the face... lol
Anyway, all that to say, it's not something you did or can fix... stop staring at the serps and DC's and you'll have more time to work and have fun with your family... yeah ok... easier said than done.

I had this happen to me with a brand new site concerning Liquid Vitamins.
I had just got it indexed, and on the 23rd page (I know nothing special) but then the next time google reindexed, it was no where to be found on pages 1-40 after all the changes I did.
I still to this day, (2 weeks later) cant find my site anywhere on the top 40 pages but all of my sites pages are indexed correctly.
So I am clueless, I wish mine had only lasted 3 hours!
