Lots of links to the same page
I have noticed a few websites that have a footer with say 30 anchor texts to the same page with different anchor texts, and i see them ranking well for the search terms. Is this not spam.

What are the implications?

Well, my sites have the navigation menu on the side and they have many links... they have it at the bottom... location does not make it spam... the way you use it does... it doesn't look that bad compared to some I see... to call it spam... not really.

i think you missed the point again, these are around 30 links not one link pointing to the same page. with different anchor text, its not like a long text with one link.

It's not that spammy, there are some terrible websites out there exceeding the red line 12% keyterm ratio in some cases.

I don’t think its spam either. But I am curious about the “red line 12% keyterm ratio” being associated with “terrible websites”. There are a lot of nice sites that probably push the envelope even more, this is taking this thread off topic, but has 12% ever been cited by a major search engine like Yahoo?

Did not look at that, but then you miss something too... on a page, only one link to a other page counts, even if they have 20, it only counts the first link found in the code for that page... so, he's wasting his time doing this and is not good spammer if that was his intention.
