Getting listed in DMOZ is generally a big help for new websites. I really hope they start accepting submissions again soon.

Due to some Maintenance, they stop getting requests, and only Editors can edit the listings, but now there is some signs that shows they will open their services again,
I think last of January 07 to mid of February 07 they will start again

I read that it will come back, but anyone hoping to send websites to be approved is going to be wasting their time. So, if you're not already in DMOZ, don't bother.

DMOZ getting back, but...
Recently there was rumor that yahoo was going to have DMOZ whatever,
DMOZ had a server that crashed, they got all the data re built and are back up and in service you can see their message at homepage
“Editing is Back!! Login now for more information “ but still you can’t add your site when you when you got to submit a site to a category, it takes you to http://www.dmoz.org/unavailable.html.
Hope will start soon....

I keep checking that site every week and no change. Does anyone know the real value of being on it? Like any experiences from google analytics of people visiting your site from dmoz??

I hope Yahoo take it over and run it efficiantly like the Yahoo directory. |
