Please advice?
Can somebody advice me on this, for example we have two keywords
designs
design
when we make a search on google for these two keywords the results that come are almost the same... now my point is that
client wants that we should build two different pages using the two mentioned keywords with text, but is it correct according to search engines to make two different pages with same Keywords on same website, though their text would almost be same reason the word has same meaning , also naming of the pages would be like design.html & designs.html... is it correct
I guess i am clear with my question, please help
Regards
Kelly

I don’t think its correct, If your pages are similar and content is also almost then it can harmful for your site. If I’m in this condition I don’t go with two same pages. It my opinion.

I think its possible for you to target for the keywords in the same page itself you don't need different page for each of them. You can use both your keywords throughout your content, title, meta, alt where you think it might help.

Yes, stick to one page.
Do a report that shows the searches per month for each keyword, and hopefully this will help with your client.

Agree with this. Duplicate content can harm your site. I suggest that if you want to rank for this two different keywords just use different anchor text in building links.

Google stem words and bunch related words in some searches (eg car hire vs car rental) ie you'd also have to look at other alternatives as well as your "design(s)", such as "designed" "designing" etc. Also "development" and "developers"....
I'd avoid over-targeting a single keyword like "design" though. I'd prefer to target phrases built around the alternatives I've listed above. Same goes for the backlink campaign.
