Obviously, I'm trying to help doing this here, but do you guys know some free places to get links (directories, etc.) to help a friend's new Golf School site to get listed? I did the free submit to Google's "add url" to get crawled, but now I'm looking to get them some golf directory, or other free links.

When did you last update your list?

How do you determine "Powerful"? Just curious as it seems they're ordered by PageRank.

Zeal is useless, Bluefind is treading water, Sevenseek's Shopping subcategories are no longer indexed and may be heading in the same direction as Bluefind.

When we put the list together we surveyed a small group of webmasters. According to the survey PR was the top consideration in submitting to a directory. Cost of a submission and backlinks came next.

This list is not my own personal list of Powerful Directories. In fact there are plenty on the list that I don't submit to. It's a list based off what the basic webmaster wanted to see. I think we may be adding Alexa rating on the next update. I know..... I know..... some like Alexa and some don't, some fell it's accurate and some don't.

Why did we not do the comprehensive list of web directories??????? Do people really submit to PR0, PR1, PR2 or PR3 directories? Very few and if it's a paid inclusion directory, very doubtful.

If for some reason you don't like the list sorted by PR you can change it and sort by backlinks, cost or alphabetical.
