I saw sideways many months ago...it was pretty good, but I'm not a huge Pinot Noir fan, and don't have a beef with Merlot -- though I prefer Merlot as a blending grape than a stand-alone. Selby makes a good one though...

Tonight we wanted to sample one of the Marquis Philips 2003 Shiraz that we picked up at Costco...my hope is that it will be good enough to warrant buying a case to lay down for a few years.
I thought about blogging my tasting notes, but there are soooo many people out there that do this, and I'm not exactly Robert Parker. A good sniffer and a refined palate maybe, but the type of testing and education the grand sommeliers go through is insane. The only way I'd ever go through with it would be to setup another LLC and purchase all wine through there...in order to write off the expense...still thinking.

Why not try some Caves Vidigal from Portugal? One of my customers from Norway have bought more than 50% of the company, so if you taste ex. Vidigal Reserva 2003 (not expensive, but very good), you support Caves Vidigal, my customer, and in the end maybe me..

I'll look for it in my local wine shop; thanks for the suggestion Mano...I'll write about it once I locate/drink it.

One wine journalist here in Norway gave it 78 points, another charachter 6 of 6 so I don't think it's a bad choice.
