Traffic Estimators?

Ok, for those of you who have managed to get a number one spot for your keyword in the search engines, how does the traffic correlate to traffic estimators, e.g wordtracker/digitalpoint etc. My own opinion is that these programs grossly over estimate traffic or web surfers are no longer clicking on the first website.

Well wordtracker data never changed for almost a year, so this one is out to lunch. Ouverture will combine a lot of searches like plurials and singular... so the numbers are usually a combination of many keyphrases.

I would be unhappy paying £140 (cant remember exact price) for wordtracker when the results are not kept up to date.

I know google adwords traffic estimator would be the best but I do not know what click through rate they use, does anyone know - 10%?

I'm talking about the free data found on www.digitalpoint.com. Never paid for wordtracker.

I don't think you're going to see accurate data-free or paid.

This is seen in all my other sites which I have top rankings for, basically they all seem to get about 5-10% of what estimators predict.

I know I read some ware that wordtracker has access to what has been searched for on a few search engens and they total about 7% of the market. I thank that they est. on the others from this data based on market shares.

I also have concerns about Wordtracker. After establishing top rankings for several similar keyword phrases, I'm not seeing anything near the traffic it estimates.
