Costs for large number of pages

We have a competitor who has grown very quickly and now has just over 5000 pages ( was 4,000 a week ago, but they just loaded more)

Looking through the pages they are all basic html and no indication of being autogenerated.Just as if they had sent a business catalog to India or China and had the data rekeyed.

I had always presumed this happened but then thought ...does it? Is it accepted now that large jobs like this go abroad and does anyone have an idea as to the costs. It would be useful to get a handle on the level of investment made by competitors.

ps..apologies if this is in the wrong the forum, it follows on from the revolving links thread

Many thanks

Collin,

I have a competitor with a lowsy site and few inbound links, but a large number of straight HTML pages -- and they do well in SERPs.

Where does the straight number of indexed pages compare with keyword density and links in overall pagerank?

Should one invest in bulk, simple (but useful) pages?

Hi FB-Guy,

I had never thought that simply the volume pages would give a good ranking, that would never guarantee quality. But i really wanted to know how these large sites are built and at what cost.

In regard to KW density i can email you the url for the GORANK studies which show the impact of KW density for non competitive KWs...ie where incoming links and anchor text are minimal.

BTW....i never knew there were pizza ovens.....makes sense when i think of it, but what an interesting product to sell.

Hey Collin,

Could you post the GORANK URL? I use a traffic program that shows what users are search for in google, and have tried to modify title and description accordingly for the more popular keyworld.

Is there page generation software? I want to generate a bunch of pages (recipes), and was wondering if there was a fast way the straight Dreamweaver template.

You would place saturation below KW density and backlines are components of pagerank. Right.

Title and description are only a part of the whole picture
