I need help fast:

I have a site that needs help and the person that built the site does not have ftp. I can only change the META tags through the admin control. I have no way to acces the site to make changes.

Can I build a page on another server through a different domain that links to his site. this page will be built for SEO purposes only. I have no way of changing his site and the company that built his site would not do what the things needed correctly.

Any Help please.

If they own the domain... set up a site on a new server and just modify the DNS to point to the new server... If I get it.

He owns the domain but wants to keep the site he has. He has no way of getting his live site. I thoought of moving the DNS but I cannot keep his original site. that why I was asking if I can build and page that points to his site but make it SEO friendly with links to his site using a different domain.

I really think I don't understand. The guy owns the domain and likes the look of his present site but has hired you to optomize it? The guy's designer is hosting the site and refuses to give the site owner ftp access and also refuses to release the files?

What's the url?

If this is your position.... 85% of seo is links. If his page titles and the primary text is decent you could just send well anchored related links to it from sites that you control by doing three ways (you link to them from the third site and they link to the one you can't access).

The host says that it is a template that they just manipulate the template when needed. Here is the company that hosts and designed his site http://www.pullan.com .

I asked for FTP and they said they dont use FTP and then I asked how did they load up the site and they said its a template. Either they don't know what they are doing orI was talking to a paper boy.

The text on the site is not set for the seo that needs to be done. It is all pre designed. I can change the meta tags through the admin control but I cannot change any text on the home page.

I feel I might need to dump this project if the owner of the siteis not willing to build a site for seo. I don't know waht to do. This is a confusing case.

Maybe, but if you (or them) can modify the page titles and someone can tweak the page text it so that it contains the terms you seek, generally always comes down to the links anyway. I'm assuming that there is text on the page, it's not a 100% flash site.

Right, There is text on the page and not to much flash. I can talk to the company and hopefully be able to add the keyword(s) to the page.

Thanks for all your help. Do you recomend any lists of directories that are good to submit to for links?

There's a ton of directories out there, they seem to come and go with the drop of a hat. There are a few good lists in the directory section here. I know Bobmuch's list gets alot of attention.

Honestly though, if it were me, I'd take one of my related sites and start doing three ways from there (or get started on buiding one) while doing the directory submission thing. What field is the site in...

Another thing you might consider is seeing if you can buy a couple of pages from an established directory. I don't know if they'd go for it but it can't hurt to ask. ie a directory owner might have an empty pr4 page for women's fashions that would take them a year to fill at 30 bucks a pop. They may be willing to consider putting up your links on that page for maybe half of what they'd expect if you bought all the space at once.

Then you'd seek links to your site and trade from the directory page.
