Yahoo penalty

HI there

I have recently got my site back in yahoo but it only shows my home page there I was wondering why the rest of the pages were not indexed. Am I still carrying a penalty on my site??

Hi,

it's not necessarily a penalty. I had two sites that were like that in Yahoo for six months. Sorry I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news for you...

but if you like you can post a link and we can check it out.

Cheers,
Paz.

Patch - It sounds like you were, at one time, removed from Yahoo?
How did you get your site back in?

I have the same problem with several sites. I've sent emails and i'm being told I still do not comply. Although I have redesigned and removed all possible penalties.. Now I'm trying the 99.00 site submit to see if they will include it.

As Paz said, that isn't necessarily a penalty. Why do I say so? Because I have several websites affected by this issue and to me it seems like a glitch which should be corected soon by the Yahoo! staff.

Hi,

Assumming you're not doing anything silly with hidden text etc... then you could speed things up in yahoo by adding an RSS feed of blog or article content.

Do a (forum) search for "yahoo blog and ping"

Cheers,
Paz.

I have a few sites that were penalized by Yahoo last October. It appears to be an IP block. The sites are still listed, but these same sites that used to come up in top 3 for competitive keyword terms, are now at the bottom of the stack. they are still indexed, but filtered to the bottom. Even when I search for the person's name, that we used to be number 1 for (and still are at google and Msn), our sites are filtered to the bottom.

With regards to the ip block, we are with a web host that has thousands of sites on the same ip. They are also using some type of load balancer that switches the ip's somehow.

I've read some of the info here about adding RSS feeds and blog and ping to get indexed, but what about when you are obviously penalized?

I have removed one or two sites from this ip address in the past couple weeks to see what happens, but nothing yet...

my site is www.adampascu.com, just one of the many that have been penalized at Z57 hosting

You could inquire to yahoo as to why only your index page is indexed. You might get the same generic response but it might give you a little insite.
