seo-guy duplicate content

http://www.seo-guy.com
and
http://seo-guy.com

both work on this website.

Isn't this grounds for google duplicate content penalty?

Absolutely not. It's just 2 different ways of typing in a web address.

All websites should work with both.

I know that it is not a good idea to have more than 2 domains, tho my company has more than 5 domains which they go to the same site, don't know how did they do that, but i found that at least 3 domains got cached individually...

Google will see them as 2 different URLs but TBH I doubt that they will penalize anyone for it. That is the type of thing that many web site owners would do on accident or just not even worry about. Too many web sites would be unfairly penalized IMO.

My website http://www.oasisoflove.com was setup that way too.

But after reading about the dup problem, I did a 301 redirect just to be on the safe side. Now if you reach http://oasisoflove.com, it redirects to http://www.oasisoflove.com

Nobody knows for sure what google is doing. So protect yourself if possible.

Max number of domain names pointing to a URL

Can you back this up - or other SEO's provide an answer?

I've just recently purchased 5 domain names that for the time being, simply pointed to our main website.

Should I just leave them displaying the "Under Construction" instead of pointing them to the primary website?
