why doesn't google show my links - bet you've heard this one before
I know I may sound like a beginner. The fact is that I did some research for months before joining this forum and I know about the Alt tags, H1 tags, keywords, things that have to do with on-site content. I did keyword researches and everything. However, I have some questions accumulated in this time. The biggest is:
WHY DOESN'T GOOGLE CONSIDER THE LINKS POINTING TO MY WEBSITE? Msn finds 61 of them(it even helps me keeping track of them); yahoo also finds some of them. GOOGLE even finds most if I search for a particular word only found in my website's title - but he doesn't take them as links; when I use the link: http://... command with google, it just shows no results. I know it's being selective, but most of these links are from directories, and some of them are pr7. my webpage has been online only for 2-3 months, but I was hoping for the best.
Will a Google update go through these links and maybe see them pointing to me? Or Google updates are only for PR based on links already found????

Google takes a long time to show backlinks, and it never shows all of your backlinks. JKnauf explains in a few posts that new back links will get "sandboxed" by Google and not counted right away. Don't worry too much about it. They will show up eventually. Google has had the same BL count on my website for the past 2 months.

I hear that. I quit looking at BL and PR for Google because it is just frustrating. I do, however, get a nice warm fuzzy feeling from seeing the traffic on my site from Google grow - which is the ultimate goal anyway.

It's like that for everyone, get used to it, it's like that all the time... look at your backlinks in Yahoo, google will be aware of all of them anyway cause googlebot is more active than slurp...

From the stats of my small site. I guess google just hates me.
however my rank and traffic are really good before 12/2005. My guess is because of google is in the process of big update, it has no time to show my efforts yet.

It's funny, Google crawls my site at a farily regular interval each day like every hour grabbing a couple of pages.
MSN on the other hand will go like 3 days without crawling my site, then decided to splurge and download like every page in the site.
Yahoo!, well Yahoo! downloads a page or two a day.
Since Feb 1, here is what my crawl stats look like:
Google Crawls:
Hits: 522
Percent: 36.07%
MSN Crawls:
Hits: 750
Percent: 51.83%
Yahoo! Crawls:
Hits: 175
Percent: 12.09%
Cleary the short bursts of MSN are putting it ahead, but I bet the Google slow and steady still wins the race.
