Google PR7 to PR4, PR0, Backlinks falls off!!!

Okay, mid June 04:

We are a yahoo store, www.powerlinememory.com, which also has a store.powerlinememory.com sub-domain. PR on the www was PR7, the PR on the sub-domain "store." was a PR6/7 now PR0:

Here is the rub, when a shopper is in the cart and decides to "keep shopping" the are linked out to the "store." there is no way, that we have found, for us or yahoo, to change this feature. We made the "store." a duplicate page and now feel that we have been filtered by G for similar content.

Also, we market across 5 sites that network into the "store." because that is where the products are. It seems that the Internal link structure of cross linking, now may be in question of going "bio-directional". In other words, we link in from our "feeders" site for the products, but our DWT templates all link out to the "feeder" sites as well, this caused all of our back links from our other sites to drop, we had 9-10 pages of back links with PR3-6 linking back but now those are gone...

Help...

GCSimon,

Try blocking the store subdomain with the robots.txt file. That should help to take out the subdomain from the index and you will end up with the "normal" pages to be unique in the index.

Regards,

Peter
