I am new to writing isapi_rewrite rules.could you let me know how to write a rule to achieve the following.

http://www.temporary.com/soccer/search/all?q=soccer with soccer always being the sports name.

I'm not sure I get it... how do you want the url above to look?

I want to write a rule which will change the url viz.,
www.temporary.com/soccer to
http://www.temporary.com/soccer/search/all?q=soccer


I have written the following rules but it is not working. Have I missed something ?

RewriteRule /(soccer|hockey|golf)/?(\?|\?.+)? /$1 [I,U]
RewriteRule /([^\/]+)/search/(all)(\?)?(.+)? /Search\.aspx\?i=$1&b=$2(?3(?4&$4: ): ) [I,L,U]

One of is, maybe someone else can chime in but it looks like you're trying to add a variable to a static page. Maybe you can pm me the url if you don't want to post it.

for the rule,
RewriteRule /(soccer|hockey|golf)/?(\?(.*))? /$1/search/all\?q=$1?2&$2: [I,L]

When I enter http://www.temporary.com/soccer in the url , i get the error
" soccer/search/all?q=soccer " was not found on this server "

also, could you please let me know , why does the url not change to http://www.temporary.com/soccer/search/all?q=soccer
