Good Links for database help
Hi.
Are you good at creating an online database?
If so, would you like some good backlinks?
I really like this one site that has a database that you can search for gravestone pictures. As a genealogist, I'd like to offer something similar on my web site for tombstones in my county. I can offer it for free to help get people to the web site.
Here's the web site database I like:
http://iowagravestones.org/index.php
Here is My gravestone photo project web page:
http://www.ancestralbranches.com/to...ravestones.html
My web hosting company does NOT support Cold Fusion.
I know it does support PHP.
If you need more details, I can give you the web host's url to see if it offers what you need.
Thank you.

Doesn't your host offer both "4Images" and "Gallery" as add-on's to your site? Have you looked into either one of these?

Database info
Hi Laura.
Yes, my host offers those.
I like the 4images.
But, the web site states:
"4images may be used and modified free of charge for personal and non-profit use. Commercial use must purchase a Licence."
I am not sure if my project qualifies for the free use. I sent them an email message but didn't get a response. I am going to use it to post gravestone pictures that others can view /download for free. But, it's on the same domain as my genealogy business.
The second concern that I have is....
Will I be able to incorporate this into my web page template? I want to be able to use the design I already have on the pages.
Third concern, a lot of the support is not in English. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get it figure out how to get it to work.
What do you think ?

Tango is/was a higher end (therefore more costly) server and many sites do not have it. I will take a look and see if I can find out.

Hi Melaniejk
if you have some cgi knowledge, you can downmload script from http://www.gossamer-threads.com and with some minor changes, this becomes the worlds's best photo script.
I have already used this script after changing it in one web site of my network but i can not post the URL here
There are alot of functios i this script and after some changes, this becomes the best dynamic photo gallery script
As you have written that you wat to use your own template, this script has some variables which can be added any where i the template and it is complete customizeable. It works with MY SQl as wll as Text Database
You can email me for more information on this if you are iteresetd

Melanie, I just wanted to thank you for posting here. Yours is a common malady (having something easy for you harder for others & vice versa) and I just thought somebody would jump on it. Hell, I wish I could do it just to boost my links or get very new things indexed on Yahoo (high PR one-ways relevant or otherwise).
In ASP with DMX (not that I would ever be associated with code editors/extensions) it seems as simple as a couple of tables, a few admin pages and an extension by (I think)Tom Muck.
I'm not sure Melanie would be patient enough to be excited about my learning curve but if nobody's game and she is... as Vord said, maybe it's time to get in the crowded room.
But then again... you could help a sister out.

Hi Jagan.
Unfortunately, I don't have any CGI knowledge.
