Can any SEO's tell why this site is #1?

Okay, now that I (hopefully) have my Google mess behind me, I thought I'd see if any of the resident seo's can tell me why this site is #1 for as many product pages as they have.

My site sells bodybuilding supplements. If you search for that term you'll see we are back at #1. Up until my traffic power mess, I was also in the top 10 for many serps. HOpefully they'll come back.

But here's the crux: There is a company who sells what we sell. If you search for just bodybuilding on google you'll see them at #1. But they are #1 for virtually every single item I can think of. And if not, they are in the top 10. I mean, we are talking about virtually every product, category, and individual item. It's almost as if a website that sold widgets was #1 for every widget made from every widget manufacturer.

My question is: How is this? And more specifically, are there any SEO's here that can look at this site and possibly see what they are doing? It can't be just text because they, like me and all other retailers, just copy the manufacturers text. They have the usual assortment of HR1's HR2's, their title is good etc. But I do the same on my site as do most of my competitors yet this company seems to have the lock. And I cannot believe that their PR6 is worth that much more than a PR5.

Anyone? I'd be willing to hire someone who could show me how this could be (joking but serious!)

Thanks,
Mike

You might have your answer in bold. If it's an exact copy, the site with the highest PR will win the duplicate content fight. If they are duplicates obviously.

PR6 is much strongher than PR5. To get to PR6 it may take like 7 times the same PR5 juice to get to be a PR6. And there is high PR6 and low PR6. To be a high PR6 it may take like 50 times the PR5 juice since it may take 7 times the PR6 juice to be a PR7... and on, and on...

Seriously, yes bodybuilding.com

I would love to know how they do it and would be thrilled to get 1/10th of their traffic. Which would double mine.

Seriously? I mean can that be it? Their main page is PR6 and most product pages are PR5 from what I can tell...haven't been *that* anal about looking. Mine are PR5 and PR3 or 4 respectively.

But....this speaks to quality of backlinks...I mean they have some really bad backlinks...hell...most of their links come from their 10,000 page site and the ones that aren't from their site are lots of pr1's, 2's

Is that the trick? OR one of them? Just throw as much against the wall that you can and eventuall it sticks?
