Do you celebrate Chinese New Year?
Hi guys!
I'm just curious 'bout this... Every year, our family celebrates Chinese New Year too...even though we're not chinese, we still celebrate it... coz we believe in some of their traditions especially on what is lucky for the year...we always have round fruits prepared on the table and also some chinese food...
So guys,do u celebrate it too? And what do you prepare during this day/holiday?

I myself dont celebrate it, for no other reason than im too tired. Around here though, there are a lot of people that celebrate it. I love our Multicultural Society!

I like your term "multicultural society"! yeah!!... it's true, 'coz i've noticed that some of other nations celebrate special occassion(s) through their culture and beliefs which some of it was influenced and adapted in our country and is now celebrating by others too...

I have a few Chinese and Vietnamese co-workers. So, when they have their annual event, I attend. It's good eating.

Same here,
We are not Chinese but we also celebrate the new year to attract luck as what you've said.
Anyway, don't you guys think it is being unfaithful to both religions?

well, in my opinion, I don't think that's being unfaithful... coz as long as it doesn't affect your faith in your religion and you don't disobey your church/religions' law, then that's ok.
for me, we just celebrate it coz we'd like to eat their "Chinese New Year Pudding or Tikoy" at least even ones a year...
