Anchor Text update

OK I would like to know when Anchor Text takes effect. I just changed my anchor text and I am not seeing any differences.

Is the anchor text updated when the backlinks update happens or when Google visits me everyday for page updates?

I'm assuming these are internal links but in any regard the anchor text is "credited" as the link is followed which is why we tend to see allinanchor much sooner than we see the PR or SERP's effect of the links.

So when do they follow links anyways? The night they update our site?

It depends on the pages PR. If your home is 5 then the links on it will be crawled daily... so usually a PR4 page is crawled daily.

If it is so, the freshdates will tell you how behind google is. Then it may be like a few weeks (2-3) that some changes may be noticed.

I say 'maybe' noticed because it may take more than this for the full effect to be applied and depending on the competitiveness of the search it may not even have an effect. The anchor being from internal page may not have the same credit also. I changed my menu almost 3 weeks ago now and don't really see big changes yet.

FYI...

As far as anchor text from your own site depends when it is crawled. I did some tweaking (no, not drugs..my site) and within three days the anchor text was counting (only in allinanchor).

In this smaller search term (200,00 or less) in three days I moved to 17 spot SERPS. Before this I was no where to be found SERPS. I know this is only due to about 15-20 pages being crawled. I can't wait till all pages are crawled.
