When it comes to identifying authority sites the MSN algorithm seems to have a long way to go, so I would not worry too much about how they rank sites.

Focus on ranking in Google and Yahoo and Ask. I tossed in ask.com because the Edison algorithm has a lot of potential, unlike MSNs algo.

As per my view, Keyword in the URL is useful in all search engines and also a basic thing before doing search engine marketing. But for msn, I think you should have some good back links and nice website navigation structure... & keywords are always important with a targeted meta tags placement.
