Thumbs up How to choose best keywords for the site?

Keywords play most important role when it comes to high search engine ranking and attracting targeted customers on the site. Choosing wrong keywords may waste your whole search engine optimization process. What should be kept in mind while choosing right keywords for the site? Like one should choose less competitive keywords so that site could come on the first page of search engines (this would in contrary lead to lower search volume) or one should choose highly common keywords which are at the same time very competitive, this will increase search volume (but in contrary very difficult to get high search engine ranking).

In the way of this research I have listed out some of the keyword research and analysis tips which had been proven to be very effective for me in choosing keywords for my website in one of my article : EDIT: Link Drop Removed . But the research is not end, and I am still searching for the actual funda which should be implemented in different different scenario and how can we judge its effectiveness.

And one more thing is the criteria towards the keywords and keyword density is different for different search engines. As I have seen Yahoo gives different level of priority to one set of keywords as compared to Google.

Cool

Good concept.I will give you an easier one.Have you heard about wordtracker.Even if you try it's trial version you would get around 30 keywords.Say you have a website and you have 6 key phrases through which you would want to gather keywords for your website.By using one such keyphrase in the trial version you would get around 15 keywords. So for 6 keyphrases you might get 90.You could curtail it to 30 from there.Either wise you can purchase the enhanced version online or use other Keyword tracking online tool.

One of my favourite ways of testing keywords is by setting up an AdWords
campaign using exactly the same ad and monitoring the results for a few weeks.

Choose only those keywords for what you have created your site. Do not think any more. And based on the keywords, build your website. There is nothing strange and tactful techniques for doing the SEO and selecting the keywords.

Know your industry, your products, market... Thats all.

keywords or phrase must be well relevant to your site/pages, you can use free SEO tools for keyword research and selection. it should be less competitive but more searchable keywords or phrase.

1. Try to select unique key words

2. Optimize for your most profitable key words. How many sales does the key word generate? How much profit is made for each of these sales?

3. Make sure that the key words are very relevant to your site so that people who find your site through your key words will not immediately leave.

4. Try to assemble a list of key words that covers your site very will so that you aren’t leaving anyone or anything out.

Send a message via MSN to LinkPopularity
I like to build it up slowly, start with 4-5 word keyphrases and when they rank go for the 3 words keyphrases and so on until I reach rankings for individual keywords ...
