I have a high ranking website with no PR, ever!
High,
It's been a while.
I have a website that is ranking fine, google loves it, but it's had no PR for a long time now and I'm wondering if any of you guys can take a look and see anything obvious?
I'd rather not post the URL live, so perhaps if you're interested you could PM me and I'll reply with the URL and some more details?
Thanks in advance.

Well that should serve as proof that the green bar is worthless. But if you must obsess over it, you would want to get more PR passing inbound links

Yes I'm looking after a friend's site who went from PR3/4 to grey because my friend sold a few links via TLA. It has some 3,000 Yahoo backlinks but 7 months after we took the links down (2 PR updates I think) it still has grey PR. It still ranks well for mid-competitive keyword phrases and keeps improving nonetheless.
I'd have a look at your external links and nofollow or remove all of them. If you're doing link exchanges I'd notify your link partners and take them down.

Well, if you are not that much interested in seeing the green bar on your browser, forget about the matter of PR because the matter of concern nowadays is rankings.

Do you need PR or ranking on targeted keywords?
I thing Ranking is more important rather than PR. Don't go for PR.

If you are worried about PR, you need more links from pages with high PR. Blog commenting and social networks won't do any good, because almost every blog has 'nofollow' enabled - you just won't get any PR juice from such sites.
